Half Dream

The works developed within Half Dream investigate the unstable boundary between dream and reality, where consciousness no longer functions as a fixed structure, but as a shifting field shaped by memory, imagination, and subconscious desire. Here, the dream is not treated as an escape from reality, but as an alternative system capable of reconstructing it.

The project approaches the subconscious as an active psychological space in which thoughts, fears, and fragmented memories continuously intersect. Human perception becomes suspended between multiple layers of awareness, where the visible world merges with invisible mental structures that operate beyond rational control.

Within this framework, reality itself appears unstable. Time no longer progresses through a linear sequence, but unfolds through repetition, fragmentation, displacement, and psychological return. The beginning emerges from the end, while memory functions not as documentation of the past, but as a force that actively reshapes the present.

The works explore how dreams possess the ability to infiltrate consciousness and alter perception. The subconscious becomes a parallel territory where imagined events acquire emotional and psychological validity equal to lived experience. In this sense, the distinction between reality and fiction gradually dissolves.

Visually, the project constructs layered environments in which figures, spaces, and symbols drift between appearance and disappearance. Images remain suspended in an uncertain condition — neither fully real nor entirely imagined. Through fragmentation, repetition, and symbolic transformation, the works attempt to visualize the instability of perception itself.

The project also reflects upon the relationship between time and inner experience. Dream-time operates according to a different logic from measurable reality, producing elastic temporal states in which moments expand, collapse, or recur without sequence. The subconscious therefore becomes a space where parallel realities coexist simultaneously.

Rather than presenting dreams as irrational illusions, Half Dream treats them as alternative structures of meaning through which reality can be questioned, destabilized, and reimagined. The works ultimately inhabit a suspended territory between consciousness and hallucination, memory and projection, presence and absence — a condition that may be understood as half dream and half reality.
