“Vivid Memory” uses large fields of flat solid color and mixed media to capture a fleeting moment in our pulsating memory and its influence on the soul. This visual experience attempts to explore the consequences on the memory and psyche of experiencing long periods of continuous change, inconsistencies, anticipation and suppressed actions. The absence of transparency, the inability to predict the next moment and the emergence of various predictions has led to many changes around us and inside us. In the end all are human emotions and experiences. These variables have created a great load on our memory let alone our mental abilities to absorb or explain these changes. The result is Darweish’s visual sonata of solid planes of form and color blended at times with gold leaf or collage and using abstract figures that seem to perform dramatical roles in a theatrical background. It is a study of the influence of a certain incidence(s) on the human soul and memory, more like scratch’s on the walls of our live memory. Wael Darwish is an interdisciplinary artist using paintings, installations and videos to express his obsessions with certain constant ideologies like freedom, time constraints, gender and identity. Darwish masters the use of real photographs to create his own reality either by super imposing it on the canvas via collage or by recreating it through his memory.<\/strong>                                                                <\/h5>\n\n\n
